BALLYMONEY IV 13 - 12 RAINEY IV

Regional North East 28th September 2019
Scorers: Bell(1*Try), Quinn(1*Try, 1*Conv)

Ballymoney IV have proved to be a very useful outfit in recent seasons and on Saturday came from behind to beat Rainey OB IV with a penalty in the final quarter at Kilraughts Road.

Full-back Jarlath Bell grabbed the opening try of what turned out to be a feisty encounter, but Ballymoney replied with a try and a penalty to lead 10-5 at the break.  Out-half Fintan Quinn edged Rainey in front midway through the second half, but, while they piled on the pressure in the closing minutes, they had to settle  for a losing bonus point.  This keeps them on top of the Regional North-East League, but Ballymoney and BHSFP in the chasing pack have a game in hand.
