Captained by Emma Park, Rainey Valentines hosted Clogher Valley Ladies under the lights at Hatrick Park on Friday night in their opening match of the season. Although going down to a 33-46 loss, the ladies showed an immense amount of commitment and effort.
A Rainey sin binning allowed Clogher to ease into a 7-20 lead by half-time, but the home side rallied in the second-half, equalling Clogher’s second half scoring of 26 points each, despite being two players down due to a further yellow card and an injury.Tries came from Kelly Stewart, Alice Smith and conversions by Beth McClean.
The Player of the Match and making her Rainey debut, was Lisa Bowman.A huge thanks for all the support on the night.
